I was excited to have an upstairs in the room, then had breakfast on a terrace visited by birds. A relaxed night in the suburbs of Sydney.

We were living in central Sydney and came to North Ryde for a change of pace. It was my first Courtyard stay. Entering from the road brought us into the restaurant, and I was a little confused when I could not find reception. The bright reception area was one floor above.

I was upgraded from a basic king room to a split-level Loft Suite. There was a sofa and desk downstairs, a king bedroom upstairs, and a bathtub in the bathroom. The room felt open and filled with natural light; simply going up the stairs was exciting.

I took it easy in the spacious, restful room. There were TVs on both levels, though it was disappointing not to be able to watch movies or YouTube.

Breakfast was the buffet at The Bistro, included as a Platinum Elite benefit at the time. I chose an outdoor seat surrounded by greenery, where beautiful birds came by. Eggs and drinks could be ordered, and I especially liked the pancake machine that cooked at the press of a button. The spacious room and leisurely breakfast made this stay better than I expected.
