On February 4, I stayed at Suiran in Kyoto with my mother and grandmother. Using an NUA, we stayed in the hotel’s top Presidential Suite.

Afternoon tea, Japanese breakfast and an onsen in the room. A family stay in Arashiyama that also included a rickshaw ride.

With an NUA, we were upgraded to a room that cost around ¥700,000–900,000 a night at the time. I was delighted.

Breakfast was Japanese rather than a buffet. I had not had a Japanese breakfast for a while, and it was delicious.
