In a quiet city,
two nights in photographs.

Two nights in Canberra during a trip to Mount Kosciuszko. The indoor pool, cocktails delivered to the room and a burger at breakfast stand out in my memory.

It was a comfortable stay, but compared with other Autograph Collection hotels, it did not quite meet my expectations. These photographs and notes about benefits reflect my March 2024 stay.

Two nights in Canberra.ARRIVAL

Three of us visited Canberra as part of a trip to Mount Kosciuszko. This time, we stayed two nights at Midnight Hotel.

My notes from the time record a stay in a Midnight Junior Suite. The room had white bedding, navy carpet and green chairs.

The indoor pool was the part of the hotel that stayed with me most. Light from the windows reflected on the water, surrounded by black tiles.

I ordered steak at Braddon Merchant. The bitterness of the side dish bothered me, so dinner was a little disappointing. On the other hand, a Japanese staff member made us special cocktails and delivered them to the room—a lovely memory.

A breakfast burger I liked.BREAKFAST

Breakfast was at Braddon Merchant. I especially remember enjoying the burger. At the time, breakfast was included as a Platinum Elite benefit.

Mount Ainslie Lookout offered a panorama of Canberra. I photographed the changing view from sunset until the city lights came on.
