In a city on the river,
a night in W style.

River views from the 32nd-floor room and high tea on a W-shaped stand. I enjoyed the pool at night and breakfast at The Lex the next morning.

With this stay, I had visited all the W hotels then operating in Australia. Brisbane, where I could also enjoy high tea, is one I would particularly recommend. Photographs, prices and benefits reflect my June 2024 stay.

A friend visited from Japan, and three of us traveled to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Our first night was at W Brisbane.

There was no upgrade this time, but I had a room on the 32nd floor. The river and city stretched below the windows. The bathroom’s white bathtub and round mirrors also felt very W.

At Living Room Bar, high tea arrived on a W-shaped stand. My friend and I took our time over colorful sweets and savory bites. It was one of my favorite moments of this stay.

I visited the sauna, steam room and whirlpool. These photographs show spaces with different lighting and wall patterns.

In the evening, I went to WET Deck on the fourth floor. Black-and-white geometric patterns beside blue water made for a very W pool.

The next morning, we had the buffet at The Lex, enjoying breakfast together with river views beyond the window. At the time, two breakfasts were complimentary as a member benefit, and the additional person cost about AUD 50.
