A friend came from Japan for a four-day, three-night trip to Brisbane. We extended the trip to the Gold Coast and used points for this stay at Sheraton.

On the night we arrived, the hotel lights reflected on the water. The next morning, the pool reflected blue sky and palm trees.

An extra bed for three.PARTIAL OCEAN VIEW

We moved from a resort-view room to one with a partial ocean view. An extra bed was added for the three of us. There were small chocolates by the pillows, too.

We had sparkling wine using a ticket for one drink each. Feeling a little hungry, we ordered fries. The garlic mayonnaise on the side was incredibly good.

The next morning, we went to the buffet at Terraces. I had breakfast looking out at palm trees beyond the windows.
