Orchids at the entrance marked the opening. Beside the lobby was an amenity corner where guests could take what they needed.

The bath, washbasin and toilet were together in one compact bathroom. I was glad to have a bathtub.

The ground floor had washer-dryers and a microwave, while water dispensers were on the guest-room floors. Instead of eating at the hotel’s Matsuya, I ordered deliveries through Uber and Menu.

I visited Starbucks in a Western-style house in Kitano. Inside, with its red staircase, I took a break with a warm hojicha tea.
