I used a free night award for my first St. Regis stay. The staff's smiling welcome from the entrance really stayed with me. I had been choosing between this hotel and W Osaka, and this night added another hotel to my list to revisit.

I arrived around noon and checked in without waiting. The clear explanation of the hotel helped me settle in. Beyond the lobby was a Japanese garden, with W Osaka visible too.

After staying at a Moxy the previous night, my first words were, 'It's huge.' I took a break with tea brought by the butler and welcome cookies. Some of the fittings did show their age a little.

I particularly liked the spacious, lovely bathroom. The tub had room to stretch out and a television, so I lingered. I was also pleased that the ReFa shower head was the same type I had at home.
A glass of champagne in the evening.EVENING RITUAL
At the Evening Ritual, I watched a champagne sabrage demonstration before having a glass. That day, it was TELMONT.
A little chef on the table.LE PETIT CHEF
At Le Petit Chef, the real dish arrives after its projected version has been prepared. The pasta was especially delicious. Eating slowly while watching the projections left me fuller than the portions suggested.
Japanese breakfast and a Muscat grape Danish.BREAKFAST AT LA VEDUTA
I chose Japanese breakfast at LA VEDUTA. It was a substantial meal, so I only took a little from the buffet. The Muscat grape Danish was particularly good.
