At Josun Palace,
one night in Gangnam.
I spent one night at Josun Palace in Seoul's Gangnam district. Its lavish lobby remains especially memorable among hotels I have stayed at. It looks beautiful in photographs, but they cannot fully convey the scale of standing there.
I was upgraded to a Grand Masters Suite this time. A spacious room, my favourite BYREDO scent, and breakfast at Constans. Both time in the room and the meals are vivid memories of this stay.

A special atmosphere from the lobby.ARRIVAL
The lobby's circular lights and red sofas were even more striking in person than in photographs. Check-in was seated, with a drink. I also remember the staff carefully explaining the room.
Grand Masters SuiteTHE SUITE
From the Masters room I had booked, I was upgraded to a Grand Masters Suite on the 25th floor. At about 80 sq m, with separate living and sleeping areas, it was plenty of space for two. Gangnam spread out beyond the large windows, and I enjoyed the changing view from daylight to dusk.
A bathroom with a favourite scent.BATH & LE CHEMIN
A marble vanity and separate bathtub. The bath amenities were BYREDO's Le Chemin, one of my favourite scents among those I have encountered in hotels. Along with the spacious room, details like this were part of why I liked this stay.
To 1914 Lounge & Bar.LOUNGE & CHAMPAGNE
Cocktail time was at 1914 Lounge & Bar. On this stay, we were given a bottle of Paul Goerg Absolu champagne for the two of us. The Muscat grapes, cheese, crackers and other snacks were delicious, and I remember enjoying them with the champagne.

A memorable breakfast at Constans.BREAKFAST
I had breakfast at Constans. I particularly remember the crab fried rice, one of the hotel breakfast dishes I have found especially delicious. The wide selection made it a very satisfying breakfast overall. Still, clearing began at closing time, and I honestly wished I could eat more slowly. Next time, I would allow plenty of time for breakfast.
Time to relax after the pool too.POOL & WELLNESS
There were few people at the pool when I visited, almost as though I had it to myself. Sauna access and late checkout until 4 p.m. were granted on this stay too. I appreciated being able to return to the room and shower after the pool and sauna before leaving.
