Basketball in the gymnasium, after a long break.

A spacious twin room overlooking Lake Biwa. I enjoyed the lounge snacks and breakfast, and relaxed at the hotel. Playing basketball again the next morning was lovely too.

Walking to Lake Biwa on a summer day.ARRIVAL & LOBBY

A train delay made me miss the shuttle, so I arrived after walking from a bus stop in the heat. The exterior showed its age a little, but the lobby was spacious and open. The staff were all kind, which put me at ease.

From a white and purple guest floor, I entered a 40 sq m twin room. There was a comfortable sofa and a lovely view of Lake Biwa. The welcome sweet was Shiga's ofu rusks. I connected the HDMI cable I had brought and enjoyed films on the large television too.

A ReFa hair dryer I liked.BATHROOM

The bathroom had a combined tub and shower, with a glass partition that could be opened. I especially liked the ReFa hair dryer. It was light and powerful enough to make me want one myself.

Light snacks and summer drinks.LOUNGE / AUGUST 2024

During this stay, I had light snacks and drinks in the ground-floor lounge. There were somen noodles and soup, and the nachos went well with beer. I enjoyed a summery drink made at the bar and the unusual Tornado dispenser that filled beer glasses from below.

This experience was in August 2024. The elite member lounge service ended on March 31, 2026.

Breakfast overlooking the lake.GRILL & DINING G / BREAKFAST

I went to Grill & Dining G on the 12th floor for breakfast. I chose Japanese and Western dishes overlooking Lake Biwa. The omelet ordered at the table was delicious, and finding warabi mochi made me happy.

A basketball in my hands again.BASKETBALL

The next morning I played basketball in the gymnasium. It had been a while since I had touched a ball, and it was fun. Getting there took some effort, but with hot springs and food to enjoy, I had a fulfilling stay inside the hotel.
