W TaipeiA suite on the 31st floor, and Taipei after dark.
ABOUT THIS STAY
Looking out over Taipei,
one night at W Taipei.
I used a Nightly Upgrade Award (NUA) for a Marvelous Suite on the 31st floor. From the room, I could watch planes at Songshan Airport; at night, Taipei 101 from YEN Bar. A one-night stay with time for the bars and pool.

Up to the red floor.ARRIVAL
The bright red elevator lobby on the guest-room floor felt very W. I arrived around 12:30 and was able to check in straight away.
Marvelous SuiteTHE SUITE
The room was simpler than I expected. Personally, I prefer bolder W designs, but this was a comfortable place to unwind after exploring the city.
A bathtub by the window.BATH & AMENITIES
I liked being able to soak in the bath while looking over the city. I love the scent of Davines MOMO and use the range at home, too.
BBQ-style afternoon tea.WOOBAR
The afternoon tea came in a BBQ-grill-shaped stand, with plenty of savory bites and less emphasis on sweets. Beer was an option, too—a slightly different afternoon tea.
Little memories from breakfast.BREAKFAST
Around 8:30, the main seating was full, so I was seated in WOOBAR. I remember ordering what I thought were noodles and getting boiled vegetables, and the Häagen-Dazs being too hard to scoop.
An evening looking out at Taipei 101.YEN BAR
A martini and cocktails with nighttime views of Taipei 101. The okra snack was particularly good.
WET Deck, day and night.POOL & COCKTAILS
The pool in a break in the clouds, then lit up at night. The coconut-shaped cocktail with the W logo was stronger than it looked.
